DOGMERSFIELD AND HARTLEY MAUDITT: TWO DESERTED VILLAGES By GWYN I. MEIRION-JONES,A NUMBER of Hampshire parishes are shown by the one inch to one mile of the Ordnance Survey (Seventh Series) to have anomalous features. They are frequently sparsely inhabited, having few dwellings many of which are well removed from a   Meirion-Jones GI Dogmersfield and Hartley Dogmersfield and Hartley Mauditt book Two Deserted Villages.

The Manor had been granted to William de Mauditt by William the Conqueror.
